Youth Centre

Inspire, educate and support youths in the community through operating an after-school drop-in centre, running fun-based activities and mentoring so as to facilitate the development of social and emotional competencies in our youths.

PCL entered into a partnership with Youth Guidance Outreach Services (YGOS) in March 2021 to run PCC’s Youth Centre.

The plan is to run our youth centre as an after-school drop-in centre 2 days a week.

The youths we are targeting are from secondary schools nearby our centre such as Jurongville Secondary School and Crest Secondary School. Many of these youths can be found loitering in the void decks of the nearby HDB flats after school.

We will be running YGOS’s Experiential Learning and Mentoring Programme (ELMP). The youths will be put through different experiential learning sessions that are conducted every Friday with the involvement of volunteers and interns. In addition, monthly mentoring sessions will be conducted with a smaller group of selected mentees. We are targeting to have 30 youths come to the centre for the ELMP program.

We need assistant youth mentors and befrienders to work with our partner YGOS on Friday afternoons.
