Your generosity allows our students to receive essential help in English, Chinese, Maths and Science; particularly the weaker students who need extra support to build a strong academic foundation. And it does not stop there. As a donor, you can also become a mentor, offering guidance and encouragement that will boost their confidence and personal growth.
Beyond academic assistance, you’ll have the opportunity to build a meaningful relationship with the student—celebrating their birthdays, sharing holiday joy during Christmas, and being there as they reach important milestones. By adopting a student, you commit to supporting financially each student that is matched to you, covering their tuition and enrichment fees. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to mentor the student, offering guidance, encouragement, and emotional support.
For each student from low income families or staying in the rental blocks, we need roughly about $267 per month ($3200 per year) to cover their tuition and enrichment classes. The financial commitment varies based on the student’s needs. You may choose to cover tuition fees, provide support for educational materials, or sponsor enrichment programs. Contributions can be flexible and tailored to your budget.
Yes! As a donor, you can build a personal relationship with the student. This can involve providing academic tutoring, offering advice, and celebrating special moments like birthdays and holidays.
The students in the Adopt-a-Student program come from low-income families or are living in rental blocks. Many of them struggle academically, particularly those in P5 and P6, and benefit greatly from additional support.
Once you express interest, we’ll work with you to match you with a student whose needs align with your contributions and areas of interest. We aim to create meaningful connections that are beneficial for both the donor and the student.
In addition to financial support, you can offer one-to-one tutoring, mentorship, and emotional support. You may also participate in celebrating the student’s milestones and special occasions like birthdays and Christmas.
We encourage donors to commit for at least one year to provide consistency and stability for the student. However, we understand that circumstances can change. If you need to withdraw from the program, simply inform us, and we will work to ensure the student continues to receive support. We ask for as much notice as possible so that we can make alternative arrangements for the student’s needs.
You can sign up by contacting the centre manager at Providence Care Centre or filling out the interest form available at the church or on our website at pcl.org.sg. We’ll reach out to discuss next steps and match you with a student.
Yes! One-time donations are also welcome and will be used to support students in the program by covering tuition, buying school supplies, or funding enrichment activities.
We will provide regular updates on the student’s progress, including academic achievements and personal milestones. You will also have the opportunity to interact with the student and track their growth first-hand.
